The Electric Daisy Carnival is an electric dance music festival that has been held in Southern California since 1997.  In 2011 it premiered in both Florida and Nevada, and in 2012 it is slated to appear in New Jersey at MetLife Stadium.  Over 100 of the biggest names in the electric music genre are going to appear at the event, including the likes of DJ Tiesto, David Guetta, Armin van Buuren, and Calvin Harris.

DJ Tiesto is one of the most popular trance artists in the world today, who has been creating great music since 1994.  Tiesto achieved worldwide fame starting in the early 2000s, when he was voted as the top DJ in the DJ Magazine Top 100 Popularity Poll from 2002-04.  His second album, Just Be, was released in 2004 and peaked at number one on the Netherlands Album Chart, number two on the Belgium Album Chart, and number three on the US Billboard Top Electronic Albums list.  His latest album, Kiss From The Past, was released under his alias Allure.

Armin van Buuren was voted in the top spot in DJ Magazine’s top 100 list from 2007-10 and was ranked second in 2011.  What really helped to propel Armin into international spotlight was his third studio album, Imagine, which was released in 2008.  It featured such tracks as “In and out of love,” and “Unforgivable,” debuting in the top five of the US Billboard Top Electronic Albums chart.

This is one of the most highly competitive rivalries in the world of soccer today, and features some of the greatest players in the world as well, with Lionel Messi leading the Argentinians and Ronaldinho providing veteran leadership for the Brazilians.

The Argentina national soccer team is led by head coach Alejandro Sabella and is currently ranked 10^th in the FIFA World Rankings.  The national team has won the World Cup on two separate occasions, in 1978 and 1986, and came very close to winning another at the 2012 World Cup.  The team was able to advance all the way to the quarterfinals before being defeated by the German national team 4-0.

The Brazil national soccer team is led by head coach Mano Menezes and is currently ranked 6^th in the FIFA World Rankings.  It has a rich history dating back to the early 20^th century, and has featured some of the greats of the game in Pele, Ronaldo, Zico, and Cafu.  They have won the World Cup five times, in 1958, 1962, 1970, 1994, and 2002.  Similar to the Argentina team they lost in the quarterfinals of the 2010 World Cup, to the Netherlands 2-1.

The Argentina-Brazil rivalry dates back all the way to 1914, with 92 matches played against one another.  What is more remarkable is that both sides have the same number of wins, at 34, along with 24 draws.  This will truly be a once in a lifetime match to watch at the MetLife Stadium for anyone interested in the sport of soccer!

What better way to kick off the new year of 2012 than with some great NFL action. It will be a heated rivalry that has existed for many years. With new head Cowboys’ coach Jason Garrett at the helm, this is sure to be another great classic as it will be the second game between these two teams. With their first matchup in December 11, 2011, the outcome of this game will energize fans, coaches and players to make an even stronger showing for the new year. As a major sport on the east coast, Lacrosse can often go unnoticed in the news and press releases of big media sites. However, for the die-hard fans of Lacrosse, MetLife Stadium is going to host a true treat. On April 1, 2012, East Rutherford, New Jersey is going to host the Konica Minolta Big City Classic, which is one of the top Lacrosse events in the nation. The sponsorship with the company represents a progressive movement for the sport of Lacrosse as monetizing on the event names and venues is a big part of how successful a sport is in attendance and ticket sales.

This event will host three games of some of the most premier and elite lacrosse teams in the country. Notre Dame will see if they can live up to their legacy of being the fighting Irish as they face St. Johns. The Giants have more incentive than any team to make a strong showing in the late 2011 season as they have the opportunity to  host the AFC championship game right on their home turf. The game is set to take place on January 22, 2012 and will be a classic showing of football action. MetLife Stadium is the former New Meadowlands Stadium where the ownership rights and branding were transferred to MetLife, the provider of insurance premiums and other services. Most notably, this shift in ownership reflects a new agreement with the New York Jets, who used to only lease the Giants Stadium for their home games. But, as of 2010, the stadium is part of a 50/50 ownership split among the two teams. Fans love to see McGruff the crime dog, just a single example of the types of trucks that have drawn fans since the 1970’s. These live events also feature more than just races. This year’s Big City Classic will showcase some of the best lacrosse teams in the country at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The Big City Classic will feature three games on April 1st, 2012. This is going to be a huge event for any lacrosse fan and will likely feature some intense showdowns between talented teams. The first game will start at 1:00 and is a matchup between Notre Dame and St. John’s. This game will be a great one to watch as Notre Dame and St. John’s are Big East rivals and there is going to be a lot of determination out on the field. Last year, Notre Dame made it to the national championship game and is a consistently talented team. St. John’s played in the Big City Classic last year. In their last Big City Classic appearance, they beat Rutgers 9-8.

Later in the day, Duke will face off against Syracuse. Duke has an immensely capable team and has the capabilities to make it to the final four this year. If they make it to the final four, this will be their sixth straight year of playing in the championships. Syracuse recently graduated a really talented senior class, but still has a lot of talented players and an esteemed program. Both teams will fight hard for the big win in this highly attended game.

The third and final game of the day at the Big City Classic features a matchup of North Carolina and Johns Hopkins. Last year, Johns Hopkins beat North Carolina in a suspenseful 10 to 9 game. This year, North Carolina will undoubtedly be trying to prove their dominance over Johns Hopkins. Both teams feature immense talent and promise. This will definitely be a game to watch. This event is unparalleled in the lacrosse world and any lacrosse fan would be thrilled to have a chance to watch these six stellar teams play each other.
